April 1 - 9th Rome

On April 2, the temperature in Rome typically ranges from 46°F to 62°F and is rarely below 39°F or above 69°F

The coolest time of the day is from 1:15 AM to 8:45 AM, with the coldest at 7:00 AM, at which time the temperature is below 50°F three days out of four, and below 53°F nine days out of ten. 

The warmest time of the day is from 11:45 AM to 6:30 PM, with the hottest at 2:45 PM, at which time the temperature is above 59°F three days out of four, and above 55°F nine days out of ten. 

The day has gained half its heat by 10:00 AM and lost it again by 9:15 PM.


As the spring season develops the weather in Rome in April is pleasant, with mild temperatures and a mix of sunny and rainy days. April is spring in Rome and you can expect lovely weather with mild temperatures and the occasional shower of rain. The weather is changeable at this time and you will need to dress in layers however, this is one of the best times for sightseeing since you will not have to battle the otherwise relentless Rome sun. The average temperature in Rome in April is 14C/58F with a range from 20C/68F to 8C/46F degrees. Usually you have about 9 days of rain in Rome in April and this tends to be heavy downpours rather than a drizzle. A travel umbrella will be your best friend at this time although rain tends to come in forms of showers so, usually, you can simply find refuge somewhere and quickly resume sightseeing.

April 9th - 13th Florence

As the spring season develops, the weather improves in Florence, Italy in April, when temperatures increase and cloud coverage decreases although the amount of precipitation also increases during this month. The temperatures in Florence in April are mildly cold with temperatures between 42°F and 64°F, warm clothes are a must. You can expect about 3 to 8 days of rain in Florence during the month of April. It’s a good idea to bring along your umbrella so that you don’t get caught in poor weather.

At this time of year, the average temperature for the city is 12.5°C (55 F), created by highs of 17°C (64F) during the daytime and lows of 8°C (40F) after dark. This average rises up to 15.5°C by the end of the month, created by highs of 21°C during the daytime and lows of 10°C after dark. This makes the final week of April the warmest part of the month.

With temperatures like these, you'll need to bring some warm clothing such as jeans, sweaters and coats to make sure you stay comfortable on an evening, as well as more spring-like clothing such as t-shirts and thin sweaters or cardigans for when the sun gets out during the daytime. With rainfall making an appearance on almost ½ of days throughout the month, it's also advisable to take an umbrella or some waterproof clothing.

At this time of year, the city boasts an average of nine hours of sunshine each day that's two hours more every day than in March alongside median cloud coverage which ranges between 53% (partly cloudy) at the start of the month and 49% (partly cloudy) by the end. April 13 - 16th Venice

Venice Weather in April: April ushers in much more pleasant weather, though it doesn’t get too warm. It’s the beginning of sunshine in Venice, with open-air cafes and lots of fabulous places to soak up the joyful atmosphere. The average high temperature has increased to 16°C and overnight lows are a rather comfortable 12°C. This month experiences about the same amount of rainfall as March, with around 64mm coming down over an average of 13 days in April, mostly as moderate rain, along with occasional thunderstorms. On most days, light clothing is appropriate, though as the weather tends to change frequently, bring along a light jacket with a hood and/or an umbrella. The days are significantly longer than they were over the winter months, with more than 14 hours of daylight and sunset at 8:17pm on April 30. (Average Max Temperature: 16°C.
