Things you might like for this trip

1.  Packing cubes.

Roll 3 of your outfits into one cube. Saves space.   Keeps things organized and dry. I like mediums and smalls. 3 mediums fit in a 24inch with room to spare. Some smalls are great for cosmetic bags, shoes,  etc.

2.  Travel plugs.

Plan out your chargers and think ahead! These are not converters so all your devices have to accept 220v    Apple products do.

3.  Charging station:

So many things to charge. This is my favorite way to charge everything   Plug into 1 adapter, charge my headphones, phone, iPad, portable charger, watch.  These are not created alike   Be sure it will accept up to 240v

4.  SIM Card  (Stay tuned...  I have to do some more research!)

Do you own your phone (not making payments)?  If it’s unlocked, and has a SIM card slot, you can order a phone plan card and have all the data you want while walking the streets on our trip.  If you don’t have an international phone plan, or if it’s super expensive, you can pop a SIM card into your phone or into an old phone, and Voila!  You have a cell phone in Italy.

5.  Packable Jacket

You’ll need a jacket with room for layers.  Rome can be windy, rainy, and chilly.   Think Seattle weather in March!  If you don’t have a good coat yet, here’s a wind/water resistant hooded jacket with big pockets that comes in a bag for packing. I love my travel parka   Here are some recommendations I found.

6. Bluetooth Headphones

This is so nice to have in museums and every place we go that has an audio tour.  I carry my AirPods with me everywhere and pop them in whenever I download an audio guide.

Here is a pair that isn’t an Apple product or Beats, but sure has great reviews.  20 bucks.

7.  Washcloths

This seems like a dumb thing to tell you to bring but our Airbnbs mostly will not have wash cloths. They aren’t commonly found in Europe hotels/rentals.  I always bring a set of washcloths from the Dollar Store and throw them out the mornings that I check out of the places that we stay.

8.  Neck pillow

for airplane   Seattle to Amsterdam is a LONG flight   You need to get some sleep   Some support for your head is critical.   Search Amazon,  there are hundreds to choose from.

9.  Charging bank

A good portable charger is a must.  When your phone goes dead, you can’t take pictures!  There are days we will be gone from 8 to 8   Keep your options open!  Here’s one with good reviews that has a carabiner, flashlight and solar capabilities   Might be a good fit.

10.  Pill packs

I take multiple pills each morning: zinc, Biotin, BP, multi vitamin, etc.   I put all my pills for each day in one of these packs. It takes a bit to load all your pills into 16 little ziplock bag.  Trust me, you won't regret it!  In the morning, open one of the tiny baggies, pop the pills, throw out the little zip bag.   I never miss a dose.  16 envelopes take no room, can’t open unexpectedly, and are so cheap!
